Lake Andes Inn Drug Policy
Commitment to a Safe and Healthy Environment
At Lake Andes Inn, we are dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and healthy environment for all our guests and staff. To uphold these standards, we strictly enforce the following drug policy:
- Zero Tolerance: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding the possession, use, distribution, or sale of illegal and recreational drugs on our property. This policy applies to all guests, employees, and management.
Cannabis Products of any kind: Smoking, vaping, burning, or consuming cannabis of any kind, including medical cannabis, is not allowed in motel rooms, bathrooms, common areas, or anywhere on the property. Any cannabis products brought onto the property must remain sealed and securely stored in the guest’s personal belongings and may not create odor, residue, smoke, or disturbance.
Guests are responsible for any odor, smoke, residue, damage, or extra cleaning caused by cannabis. Violation of this policy may result in immediate removal from the property without refund, plus any applicable cleaning or damage fees. - Compliance with Laws: All guests and visitors are required to comply with local, state, and federal laws concerning drug use. Any illegal activities will be reported to law enforcement authorities immediately.
South Dakota doesn't recognize out-of-state medical marijuana cards. While South Dakota law permits the use of medical marijuana for registered residents, our property operates under a strict no-marijuana policy in accordance with our private property rights and federal regulations.
- Medication: Guests who require prescription medication must keep it in its original packaging and are advised to carry a copy of their prescription for verification purposes.
- Inspections: We reserve the right to conduct inspections if there is a reasonable suspicion of drug activity. However, these inspections will be carried out with respect for the privacy and rights of our guests.
- Consequences: Violation of this drug policy may result in immediate eviction from the property without a refund. In the case of employees, violation will lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Assistance: We understand that substance abuse is a serious issue. Guests or employees seeking help for drug-related problems are encouraged to speak confidentially with our management team, who can provide information on support services.
Fee: A minimum fee of $500.00 will be charged for violating our drug policy.
Contact: For any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact our front desk or management team. We are here to ensure your stay is both enjoyable and safe.
